Retaining ring for shaft(DIN471A)
DIN 471 is a German standard for shaft elastic retaining rings, which are circular metal fasteners installed in the grooves of shafts. Their function is to prevent axial movement of components on the shaft and provide axial support to ensure the stability of mechanical systems. Common materials include spring steel (such as C60) or stainless steel (such as 1.4122). They are divided into regular and heavy-duty (thickened) types, suitable for shaft diameters ranging from 3mm to 300mm. The hardness decreases as the shaft diameter increases: for shaft diameters ≤ 48mm, it is 470HV-580HV; for 200mm < d1 ≤ 300mm, it is 390HV-470HV. The surface is mostly treated with blackening and oiling, and they can be installed and removed conveniently with circlip pliers through the perforated lugs.
